BarCampSydney2

BarCampSydney2 on 26th August was a fun-filled event with new and returning BarCampers enjoying each other's company and discussing various topics. One main theme that some BarCampers were interested was about new startups and was probably less technical than BarCampSydney1 IMHO. We've also seen a few out-of-towners at BCS2 which makes me think BarCampSydney is here to stay.

August 26th was also UTS Open day which meant geeks in training were present. Being at the table answering questions and generally helping, I was happy that kids were keen about BarCamp, technology and actually signed up to get more info.

We've probably had the youngest presenters, Liam and Alex on Lua (which I missed) and a couple of presentations (atleast?)  by a Microsoft peeps Anna Liu and Nick Hodge.

The after party was quite fun too at the local pub and then off to grab some dinner and a few even going on for some karaoke and having the absolute night of their lives.

Planning (or rather UnOrganising) for BarCampSydney3 will soon begin and may include a giant egg-timer as some topics went overtime which meant some folks weren't able to do their talk.

One thing I (and other BarCampers) was glad about are the t-shirts weren't too small like the last BarCampSydney. However, they were a little too big, with possibly the 2XL used as a tent.

Hey there, i love the site - beautifully done.

Yep, barcamp was great, the long-running session on startups was invaluable, so much common sense stuff that would take you ages to find out on your own. I came out of there inspired :)

Next barcamp will be good, what's the status of geeks in the green atm?

I totally missed all the sessions on startups. Hopefully there will be some more at BarCampSydney3 :)

I shall certainly let you know about Geeks in the Green soon. Will be talking to some people this week so hopefully, I'll have more details towards end of this week.
